Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Missouri
Where should I put copies of my will?
I finally sat down here in my home, three days ago wrote my will and final arrangements. I guess turning 60 last month made me realize that the longest part of my life is over. So since I have no relatives at all with my last name, and none that I trust with any other name, where should I put copies of my will so it can easily be found after I assume room temperature. I don't want people to come to my home scavenging, find the will, discover they are not in it, and tear it up. So what is the best way for someone who lives alone to make sure that a good copy of the will can be found and read?

I don't know where you got the idea that you could just write your own Will. I would venture an opinion that whatever you have writen up would not be recognized as a valid Will, would not be admitted to Probate and would not effectively dispose of your assets in the manner you intend. The statutes provide for the distribution of your assets to your heirs in a way that might not be what you want, and if this "Will" that you've written is not enforceable, then your assets will pass pursuant to the terms of the statute. You need much more legal advice than an answer to the question "Where should I keep my homemade "Will"? I strongly suggest that you consult with an attorney.
