Re: Llc v. Pc

Generally speaking, a profession is not limited to one entity form or another. However, to make certain this is true for optometry, I reviewed NRS Ch 636 and the administrative code. After a brief search, I was unable to find anything that would forbid an optometrist doing business as an LLC, although I was unable to find a statute directly approving it either. In my opinion, you would be able to form an LLC to practice optometry.

If you have any doubt, call the board and ask.

Re: Llc v. Pc

The Nevada Board encourages their licensees to organize as an LLC. The reasons cited when I last formed one for a Nevada optometrist are the relative lack of formality to establish and continue legitimacy of the entity, and the simplicity to keep it current and viable for purposes of liability protection. As I mentioned, I have formed such an LLC for a prominent Nevada optometrist, and would be happy to help you, if I may.
