how can i get paid for my artwork if i agree to sell to a skateboard manufacturer?

As a Franchise Attorney I can tell you it all depends on the contract you use. This is not something you want to attempt on your own. The contract, for example, should probably include a royalty based on their sales, in addition to other provisions. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney for details and specific advice.
