As a Franchise Attorney I recommend you clarify your question. Do you rent yourself or do you lease property to third parties? If you are a lessor, you are engaged in a business. Whether this constitutes employment is a different issue that depends on how employment is defined by the appropriate regulations that you are apparently questioning. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
