Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada

I was charged with petit larceny in 2005. I was silly and tried to steal a shirt at macys and I was caught. Since I was a tourist I didnt know what to do I didnt have an adress or anything a police man came and gave me a ticket. He told me to go to the jail and they just took my information and fingerprints. after I went to court and i said I was guilty. Ive been in the us so many time never had any problems with the immigration peoplenand this last time I went there the immigration person said to told me to wait in a room and after that when everybody was gone asked me what happened in 2005. I told him that I tried changing at ticket for a cheaper price and that i got caught. Never told him I tried to steel and he said if i was arrested and I said no. They ley me go but My american visa is about to expire will this affect on trying to renew my visa?? Please help me
