Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada

Options for Visa Overstay

Hello! I have heard that recently a new immigration law came out that would allow people that have been in the US illegaly for more than 5 years and have no criminal records, to apply for adjustment of status / permanent residency. Any truth to that? If yes, what could one apply for? If not, my situation is the following: I am a visa overstay and would like to know if I can at least apply for a work permit and a ssn? What happens if I get denied? (Does that mean I could get automatically deported?) Are there any documents I could apply for that would put me on a path to permanent residency? Thank you in advance for your time and answer.

Re: Options for Visa Overstay

No, this is not true. There is no such a new law.

As an overstay, you are not eligible for any status, visa, work permit or SSN. Unless you are married to a USA citizen, but you did not specify it in your question. I understand that you did not apply for any status while in USA.

Yes, you can be deported/removed from USA if apprehended by ICE.
