Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada
My wife is from Thailand originally and has received her 10 year green card. Her son is 16 years old and has also received his 10 year green card. Her son wants to go back to Thailand to finish High School and go to College. How long can he stay without losing his green card status? After College, he wants to come back to the United States.

Before going to Thailand, he shall apply for a Re-entry permit.
A lawful permanent resident cannot stay abroad for longer han a year. There is a danger of abandonment of the lawful permanent residetn status if a person stays abroad for over a year, and without a reentry permit.
If you require assistance in these matters, please email at Attorney [@] law-visa-usa.com, I would be glad to help.
