Death of father not in contact with

I received notification of death of my first adoptive father. He also has 2 natural children. The 3 of us were later adopted again as adults. All of us still carry the original fathers last name. We are his only children and no living spouse. We are considered heirs, correct?

More information is needed. Who adopted you as a child and then as an adult? Where are the decrees of adoption? Were parental rights terminated?
