Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada

Filing a claim against a living trust.

I was a caregiver for the trustor of a living will for approximately 5 years, the person I provided care for told me I would be compensated in his will. The trustee of his will informed me there was no mention of this in the will. Do I have any legal ground to contest or file a claim against the will for services rendered?

Re: Filing a claim against a living trust.

Claims must be filed within strict time limits. This holds true for trusts and wills. Normally, creditors are notified and a notice is published. Nevada legal questions are answered at www.nvlaw.com.

Re: Filing a claim against a living trust.

Were you compensated during the 5 years? If so, was there a written or oral contract? Were you employed by a third party or the Trustor?

You may have a claim against the estate or Trust, under certain circumstances, which must be filed promplty if a Notice to Creditors has been published un the newspaper legal section.

If there is a will as well as a trust, the will must be filed for probate and is available for inspection at the courthouse.
