There is no way for a lawyer to begin to answer that question without knowing many more details. For one thing, New Hampshire law does not even have a "larceny" crime - we have theft by unauthorized, theft by deception, etc. Second, what exactly do you mean "get off" on a plea deal? Almost every defendant is offered a "deal" to plead guilty, the real question is what sentence will your son get if he pleads, or is convicted at trial. The answer to that is going to depend on many things including prior record (if any), severity of the offense, the victim's position, who the prosecutor and judge are, acceptance of responsibility on your son's part, whether he attempts to rehabilitate himself, etc.

Good luck.
