Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Hampshire

Transferring my case to Local INS office

I filed my I-485 with NYC INS office. I have done fingerprint and interview. Now my status is I-485 pending. My green card is not arrived yet, so I need to renew my Employment Authorization to obtain working legally. Since I move to NH with my mom, I notice INS change of address on March. Then things begin mess up, the NYC INS office told me that they cannot process my application for EAP. I went to local INS office which told me that they don't have my file. What can I do now? I am so afraid my file will be lost in the middle.

Re: Transferring my case to Local INS office

It's a real big problem when you move in a pending adjustment of status case. If you already had an interview, why wasn't your case approved on the day of the interview? I would ask the office in NH to get your file transfered there. Once your file is there, you should be able to get an EAD, asuuming your application has not been denied for some reason. NY will absolutely not issue an EAD if you don't live in the NY district any more.
