Where can i find ownership records on a corporation, specifically when one partner sold his 50% to the other?

In theory, the secretary of the corporation should have a record of that event. In a small corporation whose stock is not traded publicly, such events might not be accurately recorded if the secretary was not asked to reissue the stock certificates. The information is not public and the secretary will probably not give it to you without a subpoena.
