Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
ny.nj sale representative.
dear lawyer,
I am an independant sale
representive in NY/NJ. I have joined
a network of reps that maintain an
internet site advertising our business
and companies products (orders are
placed online too) over a year and a
half ago i paid $500.00 to obtain my
NY/NJ territory. Since then I have
gain125 accounts and have
participated in events and advertising
of the group. I do not have a
contract, and today the business
moto of the group is changing and
they are suddenly taking companies
away from my territory, and cutting
my commissions. I am in the process
of making my own website to convert
my clients so that they are only
dealing with me. If the owners of the
site shut me out of using the site
what are my rights. If I handle NY/NJ
and have done so for over a year, do
the companies that pay them a
commission have to pay them the
person submitting the order?
if they sell their web site as an
affliate am i entitled to my territory
percentage. I feel like they advertised
this site to gain representatives, had
us pay to join and now that they are
going strong they are cutting us out
of the picture. I feel bait and
switched. the company is out of
oregan and florida.

Re: ny.nj sale representative.
This is much too complicated a scenario to handle in this forum. You have contract law, possibly franchise law, internet law, interstate issues, etc., etc. If this is worth fighting over, it is worth going to an attorney.
