Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey
Hi,
I run an importing business in Australia. I planning to setup a business in USA to purchase the products from USA and import them to Australia. Should I apply for a B-1 or L-1 visa? The condition of business requires me to have multiple entry into the country, stay a for a few weeks to meet with supplier and to coordinate with the freight company.
Thank you in advance for the advise.
Regards,
Alvin

Generally speaking, the L-1 visa is intended to allow employees of international companies with offices in the U.S. to work in the company's U.S. branch office.
B-1 is intended for business people to come to the U.S., conduct business here and return home within 6 months of entry (with an option to extend).
If you cannot decide by yourself which visa you need based on information you can find on http://www.uscis.gov and the above, you should consult with an attorney. I am available at your earliest convenience.
