Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey
what do i do?
I was in a car accident. I was parked and a lady was drunk and swerved off the road and hit me in the rear of my car. There isnt much damage to my car, but I was reading the police report finally after 3-4 months and she falsified the report. They didnt get her until the next day and she claimed her mom was driving when there was no one else in the car. I am being held responsible for certain medical bills. I am not sure what do to in this situation. They did not catch her drunk and I have 2-3 witnesses that seen it was a young woman and not a 56 yr old. What do i do?

You definitely need to talk to an attorney. There are too many issues to address, and you have not provided nearly enough facts. For example, if the lady was drunk, why did she not get a DUI? Who cares if she gave the police false facts--how did you know she was drunk, but the police did not? That should be in the police report. As far as your bills, there may be a number of options and insurance coverages that you are covered by, including: driver's policy, owner of the car's policy, your own policy, and your own medical policy. Plus, it matters where the accident occurred in determining the extent of coverage. You absolutely should talk to an attorney about this. Contact our offices; we will try to help.
