I hired a local contractor to paint my home. He did an awful job and didnt finish. If I put a sign on my property with his name on it telling people who did such an awful job can he sue me?

Re: bad contractors
Truth is an absolute defense to statements unless it can be shown that there is malicious intent. However, to publicize the job that was poor should not be realistically acitonable. This does not mean he cannot sue you; anyone can sue anyone for anything. The question is whether the suit would be likely successful; to that I answer unlikely. Good luck, report him to the BBB. Make sure that any statement you make you can back up.
