Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Gym membership dispute

My gym is claiming that i signed a 3 year contract and i am sure that i wouldn't agree upon that because my stay in the gyms area was only temporary. I have lost my copy of the contract and have spent the past 4 months trying to get a copy from the corporate office to see what i signed. Twice they told me that they would send me a copy for a fee of $15. They didn't charge me the first time but thay did the second and i never received the copy of the contract. Both times they said the copy could take up to 10 days to get to me. The next time they assured me I would recieve the contract after I made a big stink about it on the phone, but still nothing. The last time I spoke to them they said that the only way I could dispute the signature on the contract is if I send them a copy of my driver's license and write my signature 5 times on a piece of paper. This sounds fishy to me. Isn't there a possibility they could forge the signature i give them onto a copy of a 3 year contract? Should i send them this info even though they refuse to send me a copy to see for myself? Meanwhile I haven't paid and the balance is piling, not to mention what its doing to my credit. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Gym membership dispute

it seems the corporate office keeps giving you the "run around"...this is where an attorney making a call and sending a letter or two can make a huge difference in settling this dispute. please call for a free initial consultation.

Sincerely,

You should really get an attorney. I just ran into an attorney that handles these types of cases. Drop me a line for her info.
