Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Judgment from a company that doesn't even own the debt??

I had some bad debt back in 2000 - in 03 and 04 I cleared most of it up - one debt was written off and the collection comanies didn't even have record of me. Last year I was out of the country and when I returned I found I had a judgment from a company that wasn't even affiliated with this credit card comany - I see they have alot of complaints against them with the BBB. My lawyer is just about worthless trying to help me with this. I need some direction with this - can anyone help?

A CA can buy the debt and/or hire a law firm to handle the case. I have CA's that hire, not sell the debt to, other CA's.

Regardless of what the situation is, you have to get the judgment lifted before you do anything else. Thus, I suggest you focus on that first.
