Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

In nj im being sued by a collection agency for a debt that i reported stolen to the company itself. I have no proof except for hearsay. I paid the collection agency $150 before validating the debt because they threatened to sue me. now we are at the discovery phase in the lawsuit. Im going to show up to the court date but im scared that they will be able to freeze my bank account and i have a child and bills to pay. i dont know what to do or what will happen. i have no lawyer and the court date is in a week
