Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I was 19 years old when I worked for a retail company in Palmyra New Jeresy. I took some items from their and was convicted. The amount was valued at $200.00 I went to court paid the $200. 00 back plus court cost, etc. I did not spend anytime in jail, or probation. This happen in 06/ 1977, I am now 56years old and have no other convictions, or records. How can i go about getting expungement and what would it cost me.? I think I will to court in Mount Holly New Jersey.

You have been eligible for an expungement for many years beyond the ten year waiting period required by the statute. A petition for expungement must be filed with the Superior Court of New Jersey in the county where your conviction occurred.. You can file anytime you like.
