Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Money withdrawal without permission
A credit collection agency has withdrawn money from my bank checking account without my permission. They refuse to admit this, but I have proof that they have performed this illegal act. They also refuse to rectify the situation by returning my money to me. I need to know what recourse I have at my disposal, as well as how to report such an act (i.e.: private and government agencies). Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

You should go to the police department in the town where you have your account and file a criminal complaint for theft.

I suggest going to the police first, but don't be surprised if they tell you to go away. Police dept's don't like to get involved in contractual issue such as this.
You may need to file an action against them. I suggest getting an attorney but depending on how much money we are talking about, it may not be worth it. That's up to you.
