He will have his case heard in the juvenile section of the family court. In theory at least he is looking at time in juvenile detention, but in reality he probably is not facing any juvenile detention. Due to his age he will be required to get a lawyer, either a private lawyer or, if you can't afford a private lawyer, then you can apply for the public defender to represent him. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to your son's in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your son's case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-

Well, if it was a bag of vegetation, then there would be no charges. Apparently they have sent it to the lab, but I'd like to see the lab report and the rest of discovery. You should definitely contact our offices to discuss your options.

Wow, 12 huh? His case will be handled in juvenile court. If convicted, he could lose his ability to get a DL for 6 to 24 months and he would be fined and possibly put on probation. I suggest he get an attorney. It shouldn't be that expensive to handle this. I have an office in Toms River, so feel free to call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss the case.
