Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Status

14.5 years ago I went to court in a local town for supposedly taking money from where I used to work. I went to court and the outcome was that I pay restitution and court fees and 30 days probabtion. I have had a clean record since then (that was the 1st offence) I want to know howm long it stays on my record. I am under the impression that it is explunged after 10 years. Please advise ASPA asd a job I am applying for is doing a background check.

Re: Status

There is no automatic expungement; a petition for same must be filed with the Court. You should give me a call.

Re: Status

You actually need to file paperwork with the court in order to get an expungement. It is not automatic. My office handles expungements, please feel free to give us a call to assist you with this. 7323703000

Re: Status

If the conviction was in New Jersey it is not automatically expunged or removed from your record. An application needs to be made to the Superior Court in the county where the conviction took place. The process can be complicated. I suggest you contact an attorney in your area (or in the area where the conviction took place) to discuss it. Good luck.

Re: Status

As the other counsel already said, you need to file for expungement. My consultations are always free so call me at 732/247/3340 and I'll let you know if its possible and how much it will cost. Its all paperwork so any NJ attorney will do. Our fee for doing this is not very expensive at all.
