Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey
What fees, on average, are associated with legal representation to defend a dui charge?

It depends. For a cheap lawyer, about $500 or less but that is a waste of money. Other lawyers charge $5,000 but some cases don't set up well for trial so that is a waste of money as well. Feel free to call me to discuss my fees, 732/773/2768
It is a matter of what kind of representation you seek. If you do not believe that a dui cas fan be won you will not want to spend $5,000 on the case. If your case has an issue as to the constitutionality of the motor vehicle stop and then you attack the breath test machine, using an expert and if you were going to seek witnesses $5,000 would seem quite reasonable.
To determine what you should spend you need to discuss your case with an experience criminal lawyer. If the lawyer can think of a defense which you find plausible then you could win your case and it would be worthwhile to pay a substantial fee. On the other hand, if what the lawyer is telling you sounds like horseshit, it probably is.

Every case is different--especially with DUIs, because each case varies so much. With just the factors of [numbers of previous DUIs] and [blood alcohol content], you have nine different possible situations (2d DUI, highest level) (1st DUI, lowest level) (3rd DUI, middle level), etc. You'll have to contact an attorney as soon as possible. Feel free to call our offices.
