Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I need help

I was in an abusive relationship almost 4 years ago and I got out of it. I had a child with the man... After I left I tried to support myself and my daughter and was unable to do that. So I took my daughter to her paternal grandmother and asked her to keep her till I could get on my feet. She agreed. I went to court and gave her joint residental custody with the stip. of working to get full cust. back. It has been 1 1/2 years and I have been fighting for a year to get her back. I have a 6mth old baby and a stable home....have had home inspections done and all they will give me is parenting time from fri at3pm to sat at 7pm. I need help but I dont make much money. All of the money i do make goes to child support. Please help

Thank you

Kristen

Re: I need help

You will need an attorney to assist you. This bulletin board can not give you advice that will solve your problem.

I strongly, strongly suggest you hire an attorney. As the lawyer whether he/she has fought and tried any custody battles before; how much of his/her law practice is divorce and family problems. More is better. do NOT hire an attorney who does not try at least one or two cases per year, and who does not spend at least a fourth of his/her time on divorce.

Scrape together the money. It will be hard, but you have a horrible situation, and you need a lawyer. Good luck.
