Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

alimony payments

The Divorce decree said I am supposed to pay $500 per week alimony. My ex says that she believes the calculation should be $500/7 days in a week which would be $26,071 for 365 days . I say $500 * 52 weeks in the year which would be $26,000. I have been paying the $26,071 for 4 years now and I think it should only be $26,000. Who is right?

Re: alimony payments

Traditionally, a week is a week and payment is on a 52 week basis. This is how Probation would handle it. If your ex-wife wants to fight you over $71, let her file a Motion. I think she will conclude it isn't worth it.
