Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

my mother is elderly and sick

my husband says that if i bring her in our home-room is not the problem=he will make me move out-we have 3 children-and i have a daughter from my first marriage-his 87 year old aunt also lives with us-she had sold her house and helped us buy our house. I make alittle more money than he does. Our marriage is not good-but I don't care. My mother cannot be alone and I don't want to put her in a home. Where do I stand?

Re: my mother is elderly and sick

You have presented a complicated set of facts that require more information and analysis than can be given here.

If your husband is suggesting a discontinuation of the marriage, that can be done by him or you - but you should find out your rights as soon as possible.

Contact an attorney as soon as possible to avoid prejudice to your rights. Good luck with your mother.

We have a number of lawyers here who could assist you. Please call me for an appointment if you are interested.

Where do you stand?

Good grief. Your husband is making flat demands and horrendous threats. Make you move out?

You have to know what your options are. Come see me, I will go over your situation, and give you some guidance.

He does NOT get to make you leave. Please do NOT leave the house until after you have some solid legal advice. You can then make a decision which is best for you and your children.
