should i bring a attorney with me to court
I have a court date set in two weeks , my husband wants to reduce child support and emancipate my son. My son is a full time college sturdent so I don't think that will be a problem but now I'm worried since the judge did in a way side with him originally. My husband left a job and without any forthought moved out of state and now makes substantially less money. He stopped health insurance for me and my children and the judge encouraged me to apply for nj family care insurance, only my daughter was accepted my son and I were turned down, I have since started paying my own heathcare cost at a very large monthy amount and am hoping the judge will either make my husband pay my son's healthcare or pay the difference and I'll put him on mine. What are my chances and will the judge allow this reduction in child support? The most important question will I have a better chance if I bring an attorney and what would the approximat cost be if I brought one to the hearing with me. And One more thing I work two jobs and make more than my husband will I be penalized and have to cover more expense or will the judge see that he should do the same to keep the current order.

I have read what the other attorney wrote, and I agree with him.
You should hire (and pay) a divorce attorney to go fight for you.

There is no way to tell you what a judge would do. Even if the law is totally on your side, it doesn't mean you will surely win. Its just a sad statement about the NJ legal system.
I always suggest going to family court with an attorney. I know of too many instances where it seems like the law gets thrown out the window when there is no attorney there to make sure the rules get followed.
For one individual motion like this, it should be that expensive but then again, such cost is relative to your situation.
