Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

credibility of witness

I just went to trial and lost. The judge took the word of a friend of the defendant, rather than the testimony of a private investigator. The Judge deemed him a ''Expert Witness'' yet the defendants friend lied in court and the judge ruled in their favor.

I am going to file a Pro-se motion of reconsideration, and need to know if there is any statute or any case law in which states that the ''expert Witness'' testimony is more credible than a friend of the witness.

Also the friend ignored a subpoena, and finally the judge had him testify over the telephone. Which did not allow for anyone to see his deamnor.

Please help! This Private Investigator cost me 12K, and the judge believed a ''friend'' of the defendant over my ''expert Witness''

Thanks

Your posting is listed as being a divorce type matter. It is not possible to understand what your situation is, because your posting is not clear. I really think you need to speak to an attorney, and do not delay. There are strict time limits on many court proceedures.

Please contact me if I can assist you.
