Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

not properly represented

I hired an attorney to represent me in a family law case.My attorney was under investigation and was arrested and sentence to 5 years for stealing from her clients as well as for not properley representing her clients. because of her actions, Ilater found out that she never send in any motion, cause or even proof of anything that pertained to my case. I am now returning to court on my own and I need to know the proper terminology for court .What or how do I show that because of my attorney's incompitence and arrest I was not given a fair court hearing . Everything was denied.

Re: not properly represented

You will need to inform the Judge of all of this. It might cause the Judge to allow you another chance to fight over whatever issues you have. I strongly suggest that you get another attorney, someone who has experience in divorce law.
