Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Hi. I am curious to know how I go about changing my daughters last name? She has my maiden and her biologicals name.. I have SOLE custody of my daughter, if that helps any. I heard so many different ways and I want to be sure that I do it the correct way and not have to pay a big fee

You would need to file a name change application with the Court. Her father will have to be noticed and may object.
