Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Divorce overseas in the Military

My wife and I have been seperated for 3 years almost. I'm wondering will we be able to get a divorce without going back to the states since we are both in the military?

To file for divorce in New Jersey one of you must have maintained a residence in New Jersey for at least a year. Your residence is where you are registered to vote; where you have a driver's license; the address you put on your federal tax return.

What is required is that a complaint for divorce be filed in the county in New Jersey in which you reside and that the divorce complaint and a summons be served upon the other spouse wherever he is she is.
