Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I was divorced from my ex-wife in August of 2008, she was supposed to return a vehicle that was in my name and instead of returning it, she left New Jersey and went to Florida with the vehicle. Since then I have paid the vehicle off. I am not seeking to get the vehicle back, I was wondering, since I am not in possesion of the vehicle, how can I clear myself of any liability dealing with the vehicle. The registration is in my name as well as the insurance. I want to take it off of my insurance, but I am afraid that if she gets into an accident that I will be liable and do not want to be sued.
