Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Should he be emancipated
My oldest child is almost 20 and has attended college for the past 2 years. He decided at the end of 2005 that he was not going back. He may in the future but right now has quit and is working full time and living with his mother. I filed a motion to have him emancipated and my ex wife is fighting it saying that she can't afford to take the loss in support. What are the general guidelines that the court uses to determine whether or not he should be emancipated. We both filled out the CIS papers and they were handed in also.

Re: Should he be emancipated
Being eighteen years or more of age, not in school and working full time equals emancipation.
