Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Family Violence

My brother is married and has 2 kids. Last Monday he was removed from his house because his wife has reported to the police that he had hit her. According to her, he slap her in the face and the next day he threaten to do it again. He has a court appointment this Friday. He doesn't know what to say or do once he is there. He told me this was the first time this has happened. If someone can help me, I would really appreciat it.

Thank you very much

Re: Family Violence

Is this a NJ or NY matter? If its in NY, I suggest you repost. Otherwise, it sounds like its a Restraining order hearing. I suggest he consult with an attorney ASAP as there may be significant consequences if an FRO (final restraining order) is entered against him. My consultations are always free and since the courts are closed, I'm in my office all day. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss the case.

Good luck!
