Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

mariage annulment

i am looking to have my marriage anulled after 9 months.

reason being my wife after 8months finally confesses that her previous marriage may not have been finalized becaused she never actually signed the divorce papers.

well after getting therecords it was in fact finalized(i guess since she didnt contest it)had i known this i would not have gone through with the marriage, and the officials to who did the ceremony would nt have taken part in the wedding.

that would explain why she put on the marriage liscense that she was never married(which was also false)

Its too much of a mess and we decide it's best if we have it annulled, because it never felt right from the very beginning.

now does this situation fall under fraud

Re: mariage annulment

Fraud might be a word that could be used but the best term is "void marriage." The marriage was void

if at the time of your wedding ceremony she was still married to her previous husband. On the other

hand, perhaps you are saying that you would not have married her if you knew she had been married before. In such case there would be fraud preventing you and she from having a meeting of the minds which consituted a marriage contract.

Call me if you like.
