Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I recently discovered that my ex-husband, with whom I have joint legal custody with over our son, has been contacting numerous escorts off the internet. I discovered this because we were trying to repair our marriage and then signs started to pop up making my radar go off. Not only did I find numerous phone calls, some of them were on nights my son was staying over his house. Additionally, he was formerly a cocaine user and I have found numbers for dealers showing up all over his call detail. We live in NJ but I'm wondering if it makes sense to go back to the court to try and alter the custody. He has lied to me time and time again and with these new discoveries, the trust, the love, the everything has been broken and is gone. I was in rehab years ago, completed the program with no problem and worry if I go to court, he will try to bring that back up. He didn't use it to get custody when we were going through the divorce so in a way I think that supports my side more so seeing he didn't think it was a problem. Can anyone help? I've gone through the call detail for his cell phone, printed the websites for these escorts and put everything in a large three ring binder. Am I just wasting my time?
