Legal Question in Health Care Law in New Jersey

I went to physical therapy, they told me that I was covered and had no deductible or co-pay, that I was in network. Now they're giving me a bill and saying that I am not fully covered. I was led to believe that I was. They told me that if I hand in the checks that my insurance company mailed for the bill and write a letter stating that I can not afford to pay the remaining balance that they MAY not come after the balance. I told them no, if they want the checks, for them to change the bill or write that I have zero balance after signing the checks over. They said ok, I went to their office, then they said no that they are not doing that. So I left with the checks. Now they are saying that the insurance company should be paying them more. I do not know what to do, they have been lying to me constantly, I feel that I should not owe them more than my insurance is covering. They led me to believe that I was fully covered, they even gave me things that I did not ask for during my visits, telling me that it was fully covered for it. I had searched for other physical therapy places before going here, the only reason I chose this one was because they told me I was fully covered. The remaining balance after the checks would be about 15k. What should I do?
