Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

I came to US on deputation on Jan 2008 on H1B visa. I worked it till May 2009 and then i took maternity leave. As per my company policy i can take maternity leave followed by extended matrnity leave for 8 months. But by end of 8th month i should find a project or go back to my country. My leave will be completed by end of this month Jan 2010 but i haven't got a project yet.

I don't want go back so i'm planning to change my status from H1 to H4. My husband's visa is valid till Sep 2010.

Now my problem is to apply for change of status i need recent paystubs. I have Paystub till May 2009. What proof can i submit to justify that i was in legal status.

Please help me

Talk to your company's HR and an attorney who assisted with your H-1B visa.

If your maternily leave was authorized by your H1B employer, they should be able to provide you appropriate paperwork.
