Greencaed Process

My wife's parent has US citizenship and I m on H1B and my wife is in India. Her parent has already put file for her green card.

If she come here on H4 then there is any easy process to get greencard for both of us..and how long time it will take.

Re: Greencaed Process

If your wife's parent's applied for her and you were married when they applied then you should make sure you are listed on her application. If you were married after they applied for, then they will have to submit the application for her again. The wait time for these types of applications is approximately 8 and 1/2 years. You can check the wait times by looking at the Visa Bulletin issued by the Department of State at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4428.html.

For a faster process, you can seek the advise of an immigration attorney to determine whether it would be faster to apply through your employer.

Re: Greencard Process

There is a 9 year backlog for the family-based category of married son/daughter of U.S. citizen.

There are also backlogs in the employment-based category for Indian nationals--but not quite as long.

Set forth below is a link to a page on our website which describes the 3 step process for an employment-based green card:
