Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

If two people aged 25 years come to the US from another country and they marry in the US and one holds a student visa, what could happen next? Their plan is that they will both acquire citizenship when the student visa holder gets citizenship through a sponsered job or something similar. How does that work? Then they say they will divorce after that and both remain citizens free to marry and work wherever they choose. What are the laws on all of this?

That is immigration fraud and is a crime.
