Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I have had a job at a restaurant for the past 3 months and due to some small mistakes ive made on the job my boss has been holding my paychecks he has 1months worth of my checks and will not give them to me until i pay him 100 dollars for some sodas i rang up wrong in the computer. I have not given him the money because i dont think he's allowed to do this. What should I do?

A New Jersey employer may not withhold wages as a discipline matter or penalty for performance errors. File a complaint with the Department of Labor.
