Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I received a bonus of $2200 for high preformance in the first quarter of 2012. I resigned on April 25, 2012, twenty-five days after the first quarter. Company says I am not entitled to this bonus because my contract states I cannot collect any money after my last day at work. If they can't cut a check within 25 days, why should I have to forfiet my hard-earned money?????

The key to the answer is what the company's policy is regarding bonus payment. I have litigated this issue before and know that the company is permitted to decide that bonuses will be paid only to current employees regardless of when they seem to be earned or vested. So, the starting point is a copy of the policy.
