Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Training contract by the employer

Hi

I am transferring my job from company A to company B. I have a 1 year training contract with company A (on a simple A-4 sheet paper, not a legal bond paper, not even on the companies letter head) expiring December 2007.

Can this contract be enforced against me. Company B has already filed for my H1B transfer.

Please advice,

Thanks

Re: Training contract by the employer

A contract that is otherwise enforceable is not rendered unenforceable because it is not in a special form or on special paper. Where a writing is needed the usual requirement is simply that it be signed by the person to be charged with contract performance and that it indicate an intent to be contractually bound. The rest are issues of evidence, a matter on which you should consult a lawyer.
