Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Can a landlord evict me for past problems

I moved into an apartment complex and the manager is doing some fishing on my husband and me. When we moved here we had a different manager and I had told her before we filled out the lease that my husband had lost hes job and we were evicted from our last 2 apartments and she ran our credit and nothing came up. She told us not to worry. She was fired 4 weeks ago and this lady took over. Can she evict us for that, if its not here. I really dont want to get kicked out i have no place to go. Also she almost had my truck towed away because she said it was not legal and it is. She doesnt like us can she do anything to have us thrown out Help.

A landlord cannot have you evicted for investigation that was inadequate or not done prior to the signing of the lease. If you gave false information, that might be grounds for rescinding the lease. However, that action cannot happen in Landlord/Tenant court and would require a full suit with discovery, etc.
