Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New Jersey
Paid a law firm to handle a wrongful termination suit. After repeated inquiries about deposition, come to find out when I finally went, I was court ordered to go. While at deposition it came to light my lawyer stipulated to a material fact without even consulting me. I refused to continue, an offer was made, ridiculously low and lawyers advised it was best they can do considering stipulation. I accepted reluctantly. Was supposed to rec a check 15 days later. Never received the check. The company then filed bankruptcy (Parmalat USA) My lawyers failed to file paperwork to have my claim paid. I have emails dating back to the first day I hired the law firm, as well as acknowledged receipts of all PARMALAT Mailings. . I spoke with clerk of US Bankruptcy Court in NYC only motion they have filed is one I sent them NOTHING from law firm. Received notice from PARMALAT my claim was expunged. Lawfirm will not call me back and will not return emails
