Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

casino injury

I was at a buffet in a casino and was backed into by a motorized cart used by another customer. I have had my back operated on before, and it it fuzed. I did report it to the casino. Am I responsible for the doctor bill should i need one? It happened yesterday and I have a lot of pain in my back. The manager of the buffet refused to get the other customers name. Do I need a lawyer?

Re: casino injury

First the casino should pay your medical bills irrespective of whether they have liability. Most commercial insurance has a medical payment provision which pays a certain amount of medical expenses for injuries occuring on their property. As for whether there is liability against the casino and/or operator of the cart, it is difficult to answer without knowing more. There are a number of scenarious under which liability would be imputed to the casino for the negligence of the cart operator. As to whether you need an attorney, if your bills do not get paid and/or you remain with residual pain and suffering, an attorney can pursue compensation for you.
