Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
satisfying a lien
Condo assn filed 2 liens on my property. Liens were satisfied but unbeknown to me, the attorney never filed the satisfaction with the courts and they still appear on lien search. Condo assn knows they are paid but will not give me letter stating so. Says I must go thru their atty who did not file the liens which are from 1998 and 2001. I don't have those records due to a flood. They will not give me a letter stating they were satisfied. They refer me to their present lawyer who will not return my calls. What do I do?

Re: satisfying a lien
You get a lawyer like me who does this kind of work, and demand the liens be removed. Then, if not done, you file suit.
Let me know if you would like me to assist.

Sue. That's what courts are for. Get a lawyer near you who handles business matters and file suit against both the condo association and the lawyer who won't do what the law requires him to do.
