Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

how to defend going through a yellow light

What's the best defense for getting a

ticket for ''speeding up through a yellow

light'' - PS. The light was green when I

approached the intersection. It turned

yellow in the middle and just kept my

speed up to get through it.

Re: how to defend going through a yellow light

The defense must be that you were operating your vehicle at a lawful speed and that given the position of you vehicle in relation to the intersection you could not safely

stop your vehicle prior to entering the intersection so that you had no choice but to drive through the intersection.

Your best defense may be to get an attorney to help you. Going up against the Prosecutor and the Cop by yourself could be very difficult.
