Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Wrong Information On a Traffic Ticket
I was recently involved in an accident and I was given a ticket for careless driving. The Officer put down the wrong expiration date for my license, of by four years. Can I use this to my advantage at all? Like ''If he can't read a license how can he determine reckless driving''

It doesn't make that much difference. However, you may be able to get a plea bargain. Please call me at 609-601-9500 if you wish to discuss.
Re: Wrong Information On a Traffic Ticket
This is considered a minor problem that the court can (and will) fix up on the record if it becomes an issue at the time your case is heard. It really does not provide any means to have the ticket dismissed. The Careless Driving ticket is a 2 point ticket and depending upon your previous driving history may result in an increase in your automobile insurance rates (if it is a Reckless Driving ticket, it is five points). Depending upon the circumstances surrounding this ticket and your previous driving history, I could most likely get the ticket knocked down to a 0 point ticket that does not affect your insurance rates. However, this all depends on many factors that I would need to discuss with you before I could say this definitely. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in New Jersey in the past. Please give me a call at 908-272-0111 to discuss your case in more detail. There is never any charge for simply discussing a case with me. Thank you.
Sincerely yours, Ronald Aronds, Esq.
